Practice Learning Activity & Practice Objective
A class objective and associated learning activity centered around the use of the Tonematrix online tool, tied to an appropriate CPALMS standard.

Standards: MU.912.S.3.3
Objective: SWBAT transcribe a pre-written 15-20 note melody and bassline onto their own Tonematrix interface within one class period with 80% accuracy of notes and rhythms*.
*Teacher will be responsible for indicating the start of the recording whenever prompted.
Learning Activity: Students will be introduced to the tonematrix interface and review what parameters are met with the tool (IE the tool only up to 16th notes and only uses pentatonic scale). After students are familiarized, the teacher will play a pre-written tonematrix recording and students will take class time to transcribe the recording onto their own interfaces. Students will submit their recordings via soundcloud as well as a screenshot of the interface.

Bloom's Taxonomy Question Bank
Centering around a conceptual curriculum about the creations of Jacob Collier I use the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy Model to create 24 essential questions regarding the musical and lyrical content of his work, inviting students to think like composers as they examine the musical decisions made in each of his vastly different albums.
