In all of my musical endeavors, I have always managed to become enthralled with empathetic experiences. It is both awe-inspiring and comforting to, when in the midst of a choral performance, be able to glance over at a fellow singer and understand in an instant that they are experiencing the same emotion that you are, albeit in their own idiosyncratic, endlessly complex way. This type of experience is what has driven my life-long love of music, and is the lifeblood of my compositional style. My music focuses on a careful balance between humanistic emotionality, and theoretical beauty, and attains a higher caliber of depth through thoughtful musical decisions which cultivate a final product that feels almost organically alive. I aim to construct chords and voicings that sound the way feelings feel, creating an almost synesthetic listening environment. I hope to write touching, communicative pieces that act as conduits for human empathy, that promote love and unity through shared experience, and that, most importantly, give listeners the chills. I always say--when I get the chills, I know that the music I'm experiencing will leave a lasting impact on myself, and on those around me.
