With the Middle School Chorus Collection, BenGoncziMusic seeks to produce choral octavos for the average middle school-level choir, which strikes a balance between musical rigor within students’ zone of proximal development, achievable tessitura in all voice parts, genuinely invigorating and culturally relevant textual content, and general musical quality. We hope to provide a newfound sense of ease and convenience to busy middle school choir directors who are frustrated by the challenging task of selecting music for their choirs which satisfies pedagogical requirements and is joyful to learn.
