I've always been intrigued by the way in which video games utilize music to their thematic, emotional, and at times, even their game-mechanic-enhancing advantage. I would honestly consider the music from the video games of my early childhood to be some of the music that has influenced me the most in my life. All of this considered, I wanted to compose a main theme or leitmotif that I could use for a hypothetical game--one that I could experiment with and twist around in terms of harmony and orchestration to evoke different ambiences using the same familiar melody. This orchestral piece, written entirely in Musescore, is the product of this idea!
